Overview

The Email Developer is responsible for the development of highly dynamic email marketing campaigns. This role will require deep knowledge of HTML/CSS and Responsys to code personalized customer-facing email communications within the Oracle Responsys platform.


Requirements

  • Develop new or edit existing responsive HTML/CSS emails and templates using best practices, optimizing for desktop, webmail, and mobile email clients.
  • Ability to hand-code HTML & CSS for email or web development. (Must be able to troubleshoot without WYSIWYG assistance.)
  • Create highly personalized scalable dynamic content modules using Oracle Responsys classic built-in-function (BIF) and HTML/CSS.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support dark mode.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and/or Figma.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong quality assurance skills. Check every email to ensure that campaigns are rendering error-free and that all content is populating as expected (Litmus).
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, agency environment; self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing deadlines, burn rates, and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Able to provide a portfolio featuring past email design/development email execution.

 

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience coding, testing, and deploying responsive email campaigns with specific experience executing in Responsys.
  • Knowledge of HTML email rendering bugs and workarounds. Experience debugging cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues.
  • General proficiency in Photoshop. Ability to create, re-size, and optimize images and graphics for the web.
  • Thorough understanding of email marketing principles and email development best practices.
  • Good natured, flexible, check-your-ego-at-the-door approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and client contacts; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.

 

Work Environment/Travel

This job operates in a remote work environment with semi-frequent travel to professional office settings and other events locally and nationally; some overnight travel may be expected post-COVID. Any travel requirements will be mutually assessed with safety in mind in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
